Accessibility

What we are aiming for

We want everyone to be able to use this site, including people using a screen reader, a keyboard only, magnification, or a browser set to reduce motion. We are working to WCAG 2.2 level AA.

What we have done

• Keyboard. Every control — sector chips, sliders, tabs, the readiness check, the cookie notice — is reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
• Motion. If your system is set to reduce motion, the animated hero stops sweeping, reveal animations are switched off, and counters display their final value immediately.
• Charts. The Index has a Table view so the data is readable without interpreting a chart, and colour is never the only thing carrying meaning — every bar is labelled with its value and its name.
• Contrast. Text and interface colours are chosen for contrast against the dark background rather than for effect alone.
• Structure. Headings are properly ordered, controls are labelled, and decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers.
• Zoom. The layout reflows to 400% zoom and to narrow screens without horizontal scrolling. Wide tables scroll within their own container rather than pushing the page sideways.

Known limitations

• The scatter chart conveys its detail through hover. The same underlying figures are available in the leaderboard and its table view, but the scatter itself is not yet keyboard-navigable point by point.
• The animated hero is decorative and hidden from screen readers. It carries no information you would miss.
• This statement has not yet been validated by an independent accessibility audit.
